The Land of Swimwear Models

Hello to you all! We live in a great place where swimwear models wear all sorts of amazing swimming costumes! From bikinis, one piece swimsuits, bodysuits, monokinis, leotards and other variations, our swimwear models work with a variety of designs for your viewing pleasure!  You might be curious to know “what does a swimwear model do for a living?” Well let me explain!! Swimwear models wear swimsuits in a way that advertises beautifully designed swimming attire, whilst also illuminating our gorgeous, curvy, tanned bodies! I can certainly say that this is one of the many reasons I love being a swimsuit model. There are so many other benefits to modelling swimsuits like working with great brands, collaborating with great photographers, meeting other swimwear models and traveling to great locations locally and globally. In Australia we are so lucky to have some of the world’s best beaches, weather and brands. This makes it so much fun for me and other Australian swimwear models. I have always been a huge advocate of ‘love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life’. This alone is why I have pursued this line of work. There are so many amazing swimwear models globally that I would love to hear if you have any favourites?! Women are beautiful and what better way to show off the curves of a swimwear model than in a super tight one piece swimsuit! Depending on our body shape, some swimwear models look great in a bikini whilst others are much more suited to a one piece. Whether I’m lounging around the pool, going for a swim, or modelling I just love being in a one piece! What do you think? So how do swimwear models get those perfect looking shots!

Join Our Swimwear Models

Some people think that swimwear models just wake up, wear a swimsuit and head for the beach. That might be the case on our free days however there is so much time and preparation that goes into a professional photo shoot! Here is my experience which I am happy to share. Swimwear models need to be in pretty good shape given we are mostly naked! This means eating well, exercising regularly and working towards the type of body that we feel comfortable shooting in. Swimwear models also need swimsuits!  Swimwear models usually work with dedicated brands that supply their swimsuits in exchange for endorsements and promotion. Depending on the photo or video shoot swimsuit models can model anywhere between 1 to 20 swimsuits per day depending on the type of shoot. That means we need to model with as many brands as possible. My favourite brands currently are Pengu, Asics, and Realise because they are super comfortable and tight!! Not to mention shiny and soft. Shoot plans are essential for swimwear models. Typically, my photographer will consult with me before the photo shoot and we will discuss what works best for the location and what we would like to achieve on the day. We also discuss what our fans would like to see and how they would like us to model our collection of swimmers on the day. We also get loads of custom set requests so that is always fun bringing someone’s idea to life. Custom sets are when someone buys the exclusive rights to photos and videos and has some input into what they want or don’t want to see!! Swimsuit models love custom sets as it allows us to be really personal and creative! I am very spoiled to work with a great team of photographers and videographers who are massively talented. My favourite photographer at the moment is Elio who has worked with some of the world’s most famous swimwear models. We are so lucky that Elio has decided to call Australia home for a while. Another massive part of the shoot process is tanning and makeup. This varies greatly depending on the “look” that a model is trying to achieve. I get excited before every photo shoot and make sure that I have had plenty of sleep the night before so I look as fresh as I possibly can. Being rested is important when shooting, as being tired really shows up in the shots. Swimwear models have to be prepared and ready for game day which means getting up early for makeup, finalising shoot plans and eating! Still, that doesn’t mean we don’t have lots of fun on photo shoots! Are you ready to join us??

Swimwear Models Photoshoots

It is photo shoot time!! As the saying goes, lights, camera and action!! So much work goes into capturing the perfect photo that illustrates just how beautiful a swimsuit looks on a model. On shoot day my photographer usually takes 2 or 3 cameras, lots of lights and other equipment. Swimwear models normally carry some makeup and other essentials. Travelling to a new shoot location is always so exciting and I always listen to my favourite music to get me in the mood! Once we arrive at the location, we set up and get ready for our first set. Swimwear models have to feel good to show off their bodies and everyone has their own routine. After doing hair and makeup I like to lather up with some body oil before we start to shoot my first set. My routine for each outfit depends on where I am shooting and what I am wearing. Each set varies and the quality of photography and videography depends on so much going right. A Swimsuit model doesn’t always look good in every swimsuit they try on, believe it or not! It helps that I am busty and curvy which means I shoot really well in a one piece swimsuit over a bikini – at least that’s what you tell me! When posing I mix it up with natural looks and sexy poses that flaunt my body and the swimsuit. This can sometimes be awkward when we shoot in public locations with bystanders!! We get a lot of random dogs ‘accidentally’ running in to shot then the owner slow running over to say sorry and attempt to start a conversation. This is a big reason why I love remote locations so much, where I can freely express myself and let go! Crews, photographers and private locations are costly, so swimsuit models work long hours. On shoot day, I typically work between 12-15 hours and by the end of it all I want is a glass of wine and a comfy bed! Swimwear models always look for a good flow and lots of energy on shoot day. This means that everything has to feel right, being in sync with the photographer and videographer so we can just go for it! I really love those days and not surprisingly, that’s when I do my best work. It is so satisfying when we can capture that perfect picture and video. So, there you have it, a typical day in the life a swimwear model – a truly wonderful life of fun and frivolity.
