The Land of Bathing Suit Models

From bikinis, one piece swimsuits, bodysuits, monokinis, leotards and other variations, our bathing suit models wear everything! So what does a bathing suit model do for a living?” Well let me explain!! Bathing suit models strut their stuff in their swimsuits in a way that advertises exquisitely crafted swimwear, whilst also promoting attractive bodies in a sexy and sensual way. I feel so lucky to have become a swimsuit model and I have never looked back! There are so many other benefits to swimsuit modelling like working with great swimming costume brands, collaborating with great photographers and meeting other like-minded bathing suit models. And we get to travel to some unbelievable locations all over the world as I recently did in Europe. We are so lucky here in Australia as we have some of the most beautiful unspoilt beaches and landscapes. This provides countless backdrops in well know locations and also remote ones for bathing suit models, creating many options for fun and vibrant photo shoots to show off our swimsuits and modelling skills. I have always subscribed to the theory that if you “love what you do, you will never work a day in your life”. I certainly love what I do and I never ever get bored of modelling swimwear from my collection! There are so many amazing bathing wear models globally who I admire and I would love to meet! Who is your favourite? Women are so beautiful and what better way to show off the accentuations of a bathing suit model than in a super tight one piece swimsuit! Depending on our body shape, some bathing suit models look great in a bikini whilst others are much more suited to a one piece. Whether I’m lounging around the pool, going for a swim, or modelling I just love being in a one piece! Here is a sneaky peek to how bathing suit models create those perfect looking shots ready for your viewing pleasure!

Join Our Bathing Suit Models

There is much work that goes into photographing bathing suit models. Firstly, we need to be in pretty good shape given we are mostly naked, so this means eating well, exercising regularly and working towards the type of body that we feel contented shooting in. Bathing suit models also need swimsuits!  This means working with dedicated brands that supply swimsuits in exchange for endorsements and promotion. Depending on the photo or video shoot bathing suit models can model anywhere between 1 to 20 swimsuits per day depending on the type of photoshoots. That means we need to model with as many brands as possible. My choice of brands currently is Pengu, Asics, and Realise because they are tight whilst also being super comfortable. Then there are shoot plans which are essential for bathing suit models and shoot success. This is one of my enjoyed parts of the process as I love to be organised and typically involves consulting with my photographer a week or so before the shoot to discuss location capabilities, mood and the type of photos and videos we are looking to capture. We also discuss what our fans would like us to model and whether we have any custom sets. Custom sets are when someone buys exclusive rights to photos and videos and has some input into what they want or don’t want to see!! Bathing suit models love custom sets as it allows us to be really personal and creative! I am very spoiled to work with a great team of photographers who are creative and talented. My favourite photographer currently is Elio who has worked with some of the world’s most famous bathing suit models. Then comes tanning and makeup which varies greatly depending on the “look” that the models are trying to achieve. I get excited before every photo shoot and make sure that I have had plenty of sleep the night before. Its imperative to look relaxed and rested for the best shoot outcome. Bathing suit models have to be prepared and ready for game day which means getting up early for makeup, eating and finessing shoot plans with Elio! Still, that doesn’t mean bathing suit models don’t have lots of fun on photo shoots!

Bathing Suit Models Photoshoot

Photo shoot day is so exciting! So much work goes into capturing the perfect photo that illustrates just how beautiful a swimsuit looks on a bathing suit model. On shoot day my photographer usually takes 2 or more cameras, 1 video camera, lots of lights and other equipment. Bathing suit models normally carry their makeup and other essentials like body oil, hair stuff and other bits and pieces. On the way to the shoot, I always listen to my music loud to get me in the mood! Once on location, we set up and get ready for our first outfit! Bathing suit models have to feel good to show off their bodies and everyone has their own routine. After doing hair and makeup I lather up with some body oil before my first set. My routine for each set will depend on what I am wearing and where we are shooting. Each set varies and the quality of photography and videography depends on so much going right. Outdoor shots provide more natural Iight and indoor shots normally need lighting. Bathing suit models usually have their preferred swimsuits which best suit their body types. We don’t always look good in every swimsuit believe it or not! It helps that I am busty and curvy which means I shoot really well in one piece swimsuits – at least that’s the feedback I get from those following my work! When posing, I try to mix it up with natural looks and sexy poses that show off my body and the of course the swimsuit! I love remote locations where I can freely express myself and not worrying about by standers. Crews, photographers and private locations are expensive, so models sometimes work long hours depending on the budget of the shoot. On shoot day, I typically work between 12-15 hours and by the end of it all I want is a glass of wine and a comfy bed! That being said we have breaks during the day to ensure I don’t burn out or get tired. Coffee also helps with this. Working for myself means I am able to make the most of the location and the surrounds without being on a time restriction. A model always looks for a good flow and lots of dynamism. This means that everything has to feel right, being in sync with the photographer, and just going for it! This is mostly achieved but being organised and having a good plan for the day ahead. I love those days and that’s when we do our best work. It is so satisfying when we get into a good flow with positive energy, laughter and fun. I hope this has given you a bit of a feel for what it is like to be a swimwear model…….it is tough work but someone has to do it!!
